Lip Blush

Lip blush is an advanced form of cosmetic tattooing that adds symmetry and balance to enhance your natural lip. It also enhances your lip colour while creating the appearance of fuller lips. Your lips but better!

It involves the implantation of non toxic pigments into the top layer of the skin.

At OFF & ON, we use a cosmetic tattoo machine with premium disposable attachments to create the perfect individual look.

Please note:
Newmarket OFF & ON provide powder brows and lip blush services.
Christchurch OFF & ON provide microblading.
Wellington OFF & ON provide microblading, powder and combination brows, and lip blush.
Hamilton & Takapuna OFF & ON do not currently offer SPMU treatments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Immediately after treatment your lips will be swollen. This wears off within the 24 hours and no anaesthetic can help with reducing swelling. Clients that have been treated with lip filler can experience more swelling.

  • It is normal to see between 30-60% colour fade after the initial session. Lips can become uneven/patchy. In the second session we’ll address this and adjust the colour accordingly. We find that colour retention is a lot better after the second session.

  • For the first couple of days the lips will appear more intense. This is due to using a slightly darker pigment to get the retention of colour. On the day you may feel you are wearing a darker lipstick for example but they will soften during the healing period (7 - 10 days).

  • The pigment will continue to fade over time. It’s unlikely that it will disappear completely - a light hint of colour will remain which will lighten gradually over time.

  • The nature of tattooing and cosmetic tattooing is that pigment colours change slightly over time. With the more modern techniques this effect is minimized by the fact we work more surface level and there’s not a huge amount of pigment in the skin. That in combination with our excellent pigments, means you’re in perfectly safe hands. Regular touch-ups will keep colour true and shape correct.

  • No stencils, no cookie cutters. Every set of lips is as unique as the individual. We use a combination of specialised measuring methods, advanced tools and a practised eye to create a perfectly shaped lip.

  • 100%! The second session will be needed to fill in areas that faded after the initial session, to adjust the colour if we need to go darker. The second session is also what will make your tattoo last 6- 18 months until the touch-up session. The second session is where the real magic happens!
