INJECTABLES & DERMAL FILLERS AT OFF & ON
What’s on the beauty maintenance essential list for New Zealand women and men? Did you say getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles? At OFF & ON, we’re always looking to see what’s best next for our valued clients and when we introduced cosmetic injectables to our mix, we knew that our customers wanted to trust us to give real advice and real results. We’re confident that with our team of expert and skilled NZ Registered Nurses we’re keeping it real in more ways than one.
At OFF & ON, we want to offer you choices that better suit your needs. For antiwrinkle injections, we offer both Botox® and Xeomin®.
Botulinum toxin, or more commonly known as Botox®, is one of the longest standing and most popular cosmetic procedures worldwide. The natural protein called botulinum toxin is injected in the treatment area and relaxes the muscles which leaves the overlying skin smoother and significantly reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Xeomin® works similarly as Botox®. Neurotoxins, such as Xeomin®, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions so frown lines are softened.
Dermal filler on the other hand restores volume and improves facial contours. When comparing antiwrinkle injections or dermal filler, not one is superior than the other as their roles are not the same. At OFF & ON, we use Juvederm® for dermal filler treatments which is a clear gel made from hyaluranon. We inject dermal fillers in the cheeks and/or lips to add volume and improve contour.
What concerns do we treat?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the longest standing and most popular cosmetic procedures worldwide which significantly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The protein is injected in small doses through tiny needles at specific spots in your face. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signal which causes facial muscles to contract, resulting in more relaxed muscles and smoother appearance.
-
The most commonly treated areas are forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet around the eyes.
-
You need to be 18 or older to be treated at OFF & ON for injectables.
-
We agree! At OFF & ON our mantra is ‘Keeping it real’. This is grounded in our philosophy of believable, natural results and the right application for the individual – we’ve been in the beauty business for over a decade after all.
The key is understanding you and your needs, tailoring the amounts, placement and working on a plan - not just a one-off cookie cutter approach – after all you live with your face every day!
-
Some people may start to see the effects within 48 hours of getting the treatment. Most will notice the results by day 5 and the full effect occurring at two weeks.
-
This is dependent on the person. In general results can last up to 4 months. Regular anti-wrinkle treatments can help improve longevity and may reduce static wrinkles – you know those pesky lines that hang around even when your face is resting.
-
This is a myth. Similar to if you stopped colouring your hair, or working out at the gym, you would go back to looking as you did before. In the case of Anti-Wrinkle Injections, you may look better due to a period of softening fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Ahh the unit question! In short there is no one size fits all and we prefer to ask ‘what outcome are you after’.
At OFF & ON every client’s desired outcome is as individual as they are and the number of units required to deliver that outcome varies.
We’ve created the ‘OFF & ON Bank’ – bundles of units that can be purchased and used as required, with any unused units ‘saved’ in your 'bank account’ for future treatments or ‘tweakments’.
-
Like most things, the experience varies from person to person. We think of it as a small pin prick or scratch. The needle we use is tiny and the procedure is quick. Plus, we believe the cosmetic benefit makes it all worthwhile!
-
The treatment appointment is quick and simple and takes about 15 to 20 minutes, there is no down time, and no anaesthesia required. You could get it done in your lunchbreak if you so desire.
-
OFF & ON offers complimentary consultations with our registered Nurses. We want to find out what’s brought you to us and discuss how we can help achieve your desired outcomes. We also want you to know the facts – going back to our mantra of keeping it real!
Creating a treatment plan versus a one-off treatment is central to our philosophy.
-
We assess if you’re suitable for the treatment, explain the procedure in full and discuss pricing to best meet your budget.
If you are a suitable candidate for Anti-Wrinkle Injections and would like to go ahead with the treatment, then we can do that within the appointment time. Before you leave, we always discuss aftercare instructions to ensure you get the best results from your treatment. Our mission is safety and the best outcome for you.
-
Anti-wrinkle is a walk-in, walk-out lunchtime procedure – immediately after treatment you might notice a tiny pink bump where the needle has been introduced, which lasts about 10 minutes and can easily be covered with makeup. Occasionally you might get a small bruise which won’t appear until the day after treatment.
