Botox treatment at Auckland OFF & ON (Newmarket or Takapuna)

What is botox and how does it work?

Here comes the science! Botulinum toxin type A is the active ingredient in Botox and made in much the same way that penicillin is. This naturally occurring purified protein has been extensively researched and is both precise and predictable in the way it works. Botox was FDA-approved in 2002 for use in cosmetic medicine.

Botox is one of the longest standing and most popular cosmetic procedures worldwide which significantly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The protein is injected in small doses through tiny needles at specific spots in your face. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signal which causes facial muscles to contract, resulting in more relaxed muscles and smoother appearance.

Does botox freeze your face?

Claire and Jan-Maree, our cosmetic injectors at Newmarket and Takapuna OFF & ON are NZ Registered Nurses. All our cosmetic injectors have the philosophy of "Keeping It Real". The key is understanding you and your needs, tailoring the amounts, placement and working on a plan - not just a one-off cookie cutter approach - after all you live with your face every day.

Meet Claire or Jan-Maree for your botox or filler consultation.
